ALLEY GALLERY, Sonoma CA

Reception: Thursday, June 6, 2019 5:30 -7:30 pm

Presenting Sandy Young’s new work in mixed media with kiln-formed glass.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see the complete “Being” Series (to date). Show lasts 4 Days Only!

Connections, aspirations, foibles, imperfections, humanity and spirituality are all represented in Sandy’s latest body of work “Being”. Porcelain figurines from the 1860′s feature prominently as representative of the human form.

“Frozen Charlotte” figurines, so called because of a popular nursery rhyme at the time, were popular at the turn of the last century. These now broken and stained porcelain figures were dug up from the grounds of a German factory where the broken and defective units had been buried over a century ago.

“My work is often psychological so I was inspired to use these imperfect forms to symbolically represent the imperfect human being.” –Sandy
