Sandy Young to exhibit in the juried group show “Hidden” at Marin MOCA from Jan. 14, 2017 through Feb. 19, 2017

UPDATE: Sandy Young Awarded 3rd Place at the show “Hidden”, Marin Museum of Contemporary Art

Hidden is a juried group exhibition featuring works that include the disguised, secret or concealed. Artworks in this show may include a secret code, double meaning, hidden imagery, optical illusion or other interpretation of the theme “hidden”.

Sandy Young’s artwork, aptly titled “Hidden”, is about hidden aspects of self. Her mixed media piece features the image of a girl with a kiln-glass overlay, dimensional wire forms and translucent encaustic paint. Young sees these elements as representing traces of internal experience that serve to both hide and reveal aspects of self.

“Hidden” runs January 14 through February 19, 2017 at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato, CA. There will be a reception for the artists on Saturday, January 14 from 5:00-7:00pm.

The show is juried by Donna Seager and Suzanne Gray of the Seager Gray Gallery. Seager Gray Gallery specializes in contemporary fine art with a focus on works that combine content with mastery of materials. Partners Donna Seager and Suzanne Gray have established a premier gallery in Mill Valley that takes the stage in international fairs, garners critical review, and is recognized beyond the San Francisco Bay Area. Donna Seager is also an advisory board member of Marin MOCA.
